Patsy Cline Photo Bonanza

I took all of the following pictures with my cell phone camera because it is somehow superior to my regular camera. I know, it makes no sense.

First up are a couple of sketches from my book and close ups of the finished costumes in the shop. I got into the habit of sketching figures without faces when I started grad school and year and a half ago. Apparently I can get too wrapped up with the faces and forget the details of the costumes. It's true...
This is from the cutter draper's notebook. We made copies of our sketches so she could know what she was getting herself into. Louella was a trooper and a joy to have in the shop. I wish I would have drawn this costume as a formal rendering because it ended up being so much fun.
Fun, huh?
Here is the red cowgirl outfit, complete with a "P" on the collar for "Patsy" of course!

I think I first saw this dress during fall semester when I was pulling costumes for "The Glass Menagerie." I like it so much that I took a picture of the dress right there, in stock.
A cut, a dye job and a few other alterations later, it looked like this:
I was really, REALLY happy when I found out that I would be able to alter the dress, especially after our first fitting with Erica. It basically looked like it was made for her.

The next pictures are from last night's photo call. Once again, I discovered that I was able to get "better" pictures with my camera phone. It's crazy. Credits are as follows:

Patsy Cline: Erica Hansen
Louise Seeger: Colleen Baum

Set Design: Shawn Fisher
Lighting Design: Randy Muggleston
Costume Design: Me!
"Honky Tonk Merry Go Round"
"Back In Baby's Arms"
"Walkin' After Midnight"
"I Fall To Pieces"
Louise meeting Patsy at the Esquire Ballroom.
"You Belong To Me"
"Sweet Dreams/She's Got You"
"Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray"
"Crazy"
"Seven Lonely Days"
Louise introducing Patsy to her favorite radio DJ.
"Shake, Rattle and Roll"
"True Love"

I LOVED working on this show and I HIGHLY recommend it! Go see "Always...Patsy Cline" at the Old Lyric Theatre. Our last show is July 28th so get your tickets now!

Your designs are amazing. I love this show, had fun working with Erica when we did a show together, and wish I could have made it up to see the run.
